Richard B Dewey, Jr, MD
Dr. Dewey was trained in Neurology and Movement Disorders at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, having received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In July 1994, he joined the neurology faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he helped to create the Clinical Center for Movement Disorders, which he directs. Dr. Dewey is now a Professor of Neurology and has been involved in a number of clinical research projects in the field of movement disorders. His primary research interest is in the therapeutics of Parkinson's disease, and he is now involved in an important study aimed at finding a drug that will halt or slow the progression of this disorder. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the American Neurological Society.
Robert A Hauser, MD, MBA
Robert A Hauser, MD, MBA, is Professor of Neurology, Molecular Pharmacology, and Physiology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He serves as Director of the Clinical Signature Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience and as Director of the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center, recognized by the National Parkinson Foundation as a Center of Excellence.
Dr. Hauser earned a medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed neurology training at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, Norfolk General Hospital.
Dr. Hauser's research focuses on the development of new treatments for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. His expertise includes clinical trial design and execution. Dr. Hauser is the lead investigator for several national and international clinical trials and serves on steering committees for several drug development programs and other clinical trials. He is an active clinical investigator.
Dr. Hauser has authored or coauthored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and has lectured frequently at scientific meetings around the world. He is Past Chairman of the Interventional Neurology Section of the American Academy of Neurology, has served on the executive committee of the Parkinson Study Group, and is a member of the steering committee for the NIH Exploratory Trials in Parkinson's Disease program (NET-PD).
